Students from the Tuesday evening Conversation class and the Reading and Writing class celebrated the end of the year at an international dinner. Tutors Lorraine Stevens and Val Lunday, assisted by Shelia Brown, taught students from El Salvador, Afghanistan, Guatemala, Mexico, Cameroon, Eritrea, and Viet Nam.

Tom Hougham, member of the Plano-Richardson Elks Lodge #2485 presented a check for a "Gratitude Grant" from the National Elks Foundation to Mimi Tanner, Executive Director of the RALC.
 

Richardson Rotary Club President Gene Ingram presented a big check to RALC Executive Director Mimi Tanner at a recent meeting.

The RALC was visited by Barbara Hanley (R), accreditation reviewer from ProLiteracy. Board member Roman Cooper, (L), representing Frost Bank, hosted the Review luncheon.

The RALC is a sponsor of Richardson Reads OneBook, a community program encouraging reading. David Oliver Relin, author of Three Cups of Tea and RALC Executive Director Mimi Tanner discussed this year's author visit which was September 29-30.
